Travel with Kasa'Di

This is our first blog post. We are super excited to share our adventures with you. We wanted to start our blog with an exciting trip we did together for the first time.

The best part of the trip to Sigiriya was the Hike to Pidurangala Rock. Sigiriya is a place that holds many historical value. Even though that is the case the best experience you could have is the view you get of Sigiriya rock from the peak of Pidurangala. We have visited Sigiriya many times before, but this was the far most memorable one because this was the first time we climbed Pidurangala.

The climb doesn’t take long even though it was a little tricky. On the bottom of the rock you will see the Pidurangala Royal Cave Temple. Once you pass the Temple area you wll get the to start of the climb with stone steps. Make sure you take your time and climb these steps as the steps are pretty high and uneven you might get tired faster.

Once you climb the steps then you get to a landing where you can find the Pidurangala rock inscription. From here you can take clear view of Sirigiya rock. This view will make you forget all about the tiredness. After this point you will find the pathways with unexpected routes. Wearing covered shoes are recommended for this area. The climb and glide between large and tall rocks will then take you to the peak of the rock. Trust us! you have to save the battery of your phone and camera for this part. The view is simply breathtaking. From here you can get the best view of the Lion Rock (aka sigiriya). You can see the 360 view of the entire city from the top of the Rock. This is a great experience you can have as it is not too touristy yet. It is known that the sunrise and sunset is magnificent from top of the mountain.

It is a must to visit Pidurangala if you are in Sigiriya. We can guarantee that you wont regret the climb.
